Trial Print Modes and ICC Profiles

Trial packages of Digital Factory includes options to create print modes and ICC profiles before you purchase the product.

The profiles are encrypted and will not work in the full versions of the product, to use any print modes/ICC profiles you have created with a trial version, you will need to rebuild the ICC profile with the full version of the software (once purchased).

You do not need to print or re-read the charts, you just need to reload the ICC chart data and recreate the ICC and this will create an unencrypted version that can be used with the full version of the software and should only take 5-10 minutes for each profile.

  1. If you have a print mode or an ICC (or a reprofiler which creates an updated ICC) that was created with a trial, after getting your full license go to Devices > Manage Print Modes.

  2. To rebuild the ICC, make sure you have the same device selected as you used when reading the chart, and select the print mode you created with the trial version, then click the Create ICC icon.

  3. Enter a new name for your print mode

  4. Select Load Chart.
A file open dialog will appear that should show you a list of any .it8 files that were used in the creation of the ICC profiles.

  5. Scroll down until you see a file name that matches the original print mode name.
Note: Do not select the _ref_icc file as this is the original reference chart information not the color data you have read with your device.

  6. Select the .it8 and click Open.
You should then see your chart data displayed

  7. Click Next.

  8. Select your ICC creation options and click Next and the new ICC profile (without encryption) will be created.

  9. Select your default input profiles and click Next to finish.
You can close the Print Mode Manager and your new print mode will be selected and ready to use on your current working queue.
