Default dialog

The Default dialog appears when creating tool paths for the first time from Tool Path Tools > [select tool path tool] and every time from Machine > Create Tool Path > [select tool path].

These tabs may not appear in this order. Use the table to configure tool paths. Options are available depending on selections.

Basic controls:

  • Lock Template: Set a password to restrict template editing.
  • Clear: Deselect the current template to create a new one.
  • Add: Enter a new cut template.
  • Change: Accept changes to the current cut template.
Default dialog

Template tab

Material Library

Opens the Material Library dialog. The Material Library lists all of the materials that can be associated with output. Set the type, thickness, and color.

Material list Select a material from the list, then click Change to accept.
Template name Enter a name.
Filter by material Select to filter the list by material.
Color Select a color.

Basic Cut tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
Inlay Select to enable an inlay and set the offset.
Material thickness Set the depth, surface, and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.
Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Tool path cornering Set the cornering as sharp corner or roll corner.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.

Flange tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
Dimensions Set the flange width and height.
Material thickness Set the depth and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.
Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.

Cleanup tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
Dimensions Set the amount.
Material thickness Set the depth and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.
Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.

Bridge tab

Cut bridges Select to cut bridges.
Type Select tab, rectangular, triangular, or tab with lead-in. Select the check box to apply to cleanup the path.
Dimensions Set the height and length.
Distribution Set the quantity or distance.

Lead In/Out tab

Create lead in/out Select to create a lead in/out.
Lead in/Lead out Select Arc, Line, or On line, then set the radius, length, or angle.
Plunge type Select the plunge type and set the cycle length, radius, slope, total length, and cycle number.
Overlap Set the overlap.
Adjust start point Select to adjust the start point then select the start point from the diagram with a click.
Middle of longest segment Select to start at the middle of the longest segment. The diagram is greyed out.

Fill Type tab

Style Select a fill style. Depending on the option you choose, some of the fields below may not be available.
Overlap % Set an overlap percentage.
Angle Set the angle.
Spacing Set the spacing.
Variation Set the variation.
Edge offset Set the edge offset.
Uncentered, centered, random Select one of the options.

Fill Tool tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
Inlay Select to enable an inlay and set the offset.
Material thickness Set the depth, surface, and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.

Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.

3D Tool tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
Centerline attributes Set the corner threshold and select a precision level option.
Material thickness Set the depth and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.
Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.

Bevel Tool tab

Tool Select a tool from the drop-down list. Click to launch the Tools Library dialog.
3D sharpen corners Select to enable.
Material thickness Set the depth and total passes. Select to enable a fixed first pass, maximum per pass, and a fixed last pass.
Direction Set the direction as conventional or climbing.
Tool path cornering Set the cornering as sharp corner or roll corner.
Move control Set the feed and plunge rate, and the spindle speed and dwell time.
