Engraver Setup dialog

Go to Engrave > Engraving Defaults and click Setup.

Engraver tab

Selected driver Displays driver selected in Output dialog.
Installed drivers Select the driver you need out of the list.
Create, delete, load Click the buttons to create a custom copy, delete, or load a new driver.
Origin

Set an origin point for the table.

To edit the origin point on the workspace, click and drag the upper left origin of the design area to the desired origin point (the cursor changes to a cross).

End point Set an end point for the table.
Additional X move at end Specify any additional X movement at the end of the regular output.
Version
Notes Displays device-specific information.
Tool options

Opens the Tool Options dialog to set up arc support, overcut, cut velocity, pauses for copies, tiles, pen, or pages, material, and to specify tool number for the selected tool.

Note: The controls that appear in this dialog are specific to the device. For more details, refer to the user manual.

Machine limits Set the default size of the tiling lines (the limits of the tool area).

Port tab

Direct to port Select to send jobs directly to the output device.
Use Production Spooler Select to send jobs to the Production Spooler.

Access Denied (Domain or Workgroup Settings)

Resolution:

  • Both computers (the one with EngraveLab and the one with Production Spooler) must be on the same domain or network.
  • In Production Spooler, go to Tools > Require windows authentication for remote connections and ensure the check box is cleared.
Port location If direct to port is chosen, set a port location.

Data rate If direct to port is chosen, select minimum, maximum, or default.
Current COMM settings If direct to port is chosen, displays current settings. Select Edit to edit. See device user manual for details.

Engraver Options tab

Resolution

Select Edit to edit the factory-set resolution for the number of stepper motions making up one inch.

Select Advanced to edit X, Y, and Z.

Manual calibration

Select to manually calibrate an output device that requires adjustment.

To calibrate:

  1. Perform a square cut (min. 10 in./250 mm.).
  2. Measure the cut.
  3. Indicate original square size and output size.
  4. Click Calculate Scale.

Click Reset to restore default settings.

Origin adjust

Adjust the origin point without changing the origin from the SmartBar.

Note: This only works on cutters that look for registration marks or have laser pointers.

Work Mode Settings

Make any necessary adjustments to the Cut (Vector), Engrave (Raster), Grade / 3D Engrave, and Hole tabs.
Note:

  • Cut mode: Quick Speed is the working speed; Acceleration can't be too high or it can stall; Second Work Acceleration is deceleration.
  • Engrave (Raster) mode requires an X Offset shift to line up with the cut object.
  • Hole mode default frequency is recommended, however adjustment may be necessary depending on the material used.
