Settings Tab

The Settings tab contains configuration settings for the selected device. Options vary by device and by queue.

Settings tab

General

Name Enter a queue name.
Print mode Select a print mode from the drop-down list.
Opens the Print Mode Selection dialog. Use the table in the following link for configuration options: Print Mode Manager
Choose color

Select a substrate color using the sliders. Select from RGB or CMYK.

Note: The next imported job displays the color change.

Change image Set a queue image (useful for setting up and easily identifying a recurring output).
Remove image Remove the queue image.
Image tooltip Enter a tooltip for the queue image.
Create print mode Create a print mode based on the current settings.

Hot Folders
Enable queue hot folder

A hot folder is a specific directory the queue monitors for new design files. When files are added to the hot folder, they are automatically detected and added to the queue as print jobs.

Browse for a folder to send jobs, and select Delete file after processed by queue if desired.

Note: To edit this location, click the ellipsis button on the right.

Enable template hot folders

Browse and create an empty folder, and select Delete file after processed by queue if desired. Select Match jobs on template by file name to group the jobs on the same template.
Note: Template folders are automatically created for jobs.

Media Setup

Type Select a media type from the drop-down list.
Name

Select media from the drop-down list. Use the () button to launch the Print Media Manager dialog (see Print Media Manager).

Note: If you select <Add New Media>, the Template Setup dialog is launched (see Template Setup dialog). Depending on the media, you may see the Media Setup dialog or the Template Setup dialog. If the Media Setup dialog appears:

  • Enter a name, size, and margins.
Margins

Layout Manager

Layout jobs on page as they arrive Select to lay jobs out on the page as they arrive. If this option is disabled, jobs are sent to the reserve list.
Rotate job on import

Select to rotate jobs when they are imported. Set a degree of rotation.

Note: Not available with Template media configured.

Mirror jobs on import

Select to mirror jobs on import horizontally (reverse the jobs, useful for vinyl application).

Note: If you have also set rotation, the image is mirrored, then rotated (useful for sublimation/laser on transfer media).

Invert job on import Select to invert job color on import (invert color or white/black values, like a photographic negative).
Preview multiple page jobs as an overlap (all pages overlay) Select to display jobs that have more than one page as an overlay (only the first page will be visible).
Pause between copies Select to pause between each copy.
Position on page

Click on the image to select a position on the page from the 9x9 square that appears.

Note: Available in Roll Media and Fixed Sheet Media.

Confidence strip

For thermal imagesetters:

Select to add:

  • Top Black Strip

Set the height.

Layout mode Use the drop-down to select Manual (add new jobs without conserving media), Auto Page (add a page break as each job is received), or Auto Nest (automatically reposition jobs to conserve media).
Remove excess white space from output Select to remove excess white space trailing the print job.
On job import

Select one of the following:

  • Leave as is (do not change on import)
  • Auto tile (when selected, the Options button is available)
    • Click Options.
      The Tile Overlap Options dialog appears.
    • Select the overlap mode and edges, then set values for X and Y.
  • Scale: if larger
  • Scale always (to fit media)
Close page... Select to close the page [on given action].
Allow job rotations when nesting Select to enable rotation of jobs for automatic best fit while nesting.
Space between jobs Use the arrows to set the space between each job.
Group jobs by substrate Select to group jobs by substrate color.
Show Import Template Job dialog Select to show the Import Template Job dialog when importing every job.
Automatically close template when all slots filled
Remove white space from bottom  
Remove white space from right
Output scheduling Use the drop-down list for print jobs to schedule output for closed jobs/pages.
Printer Status
You can schedule device maintenance.
Note: Not available for all devices.

Job Reserve

Enable job reserve
Save spool file on job reserve
Auto clean reserve Select to automatically clean the job reserve, and use the arrows to configure the date interval.
Delete reserved spool files

Print Labels

Enable print labels

Select annotations to print alongside production markup. Select to print labels per copy or per job.

Add barcode and select type and position.

Select Do not apply processing options to disable white underbase generation.

Confidence strip

Select one or more of the options:

  • Left
  • Right
  • Top

Select Add Lead-in to add a lead-in to the confidence strip.

Set width and height.

Set an X offset.

Select Do not apply processing options to disable white underbase generation.

Production Markup
Select system

Select a production markup system for output to ensure proper alignment.

Weed Borders

Select mode

Set the markup application per job or per page.

Note: Not applicable to weed border marks.

Select mark color Set a color by clicking Choose color.
Markup system settings

Set width, height, stroke, offset, type, thickness, number of marks, distance, etc. When finished, click OK unless adding multiple systems.

Margins
Padding
Add multiple systems

Select to enable multiple production markup systems. When this is enabled, a list with controls appears on the right above the preview.

Note: If you have added multiple markup systems, select them to make changes.

Add markup system

Add a markup system based on selected values.

Note: Only applicable if multiple systems are added. Click Add markup system when adding a second markup system.

Enable barcode for Find Job Select to enable the barcode for Find Job (see Finding Jobs).
