Plotting Options dialog

To prepare jobs, ensure your job is imported and adjusted for output, and your output device is set up.

To install an output device, see Installing Output Devices.

In SignLab, this is done through the Cut > Plotting Defaults function.

To configure options, go to Cut > PlottingDefaults.
The Plot dialog appears.

Note: These settings do not apply when using File > Print and Cut.

Use the table to configure options. Default options are dependent on the selected driver.

Selected driver Use the drop-down list to select the driver.
Setup

Opens the Plotter Setup dialog (see Plotter Setup dialog).

Copies Specify the number of copies required. When more than one is selected, X space is enabled.
Use driver copies

Select to cut each copy with the same series of tool movements.

X represents the space between jobs cut side-by-side.

Y represents the space between jobs above one another.

Stack copies Select to stack copies. When selected, Y space is enabled.
Options

Select one or more of the following:

  • Mirror: Produces a horizontal mirror image of the job.
  • Sort: Sort objects by nearest (processes objects closest to each other first), database order (objects are processed according to their layering order), horizontal (objects are processed from left to right), or vertical (objects are processed starting from the lowest point on the Y axis). Select Sort within paragraphs for each letter to be assigned its own position in the sort order.
  • Axis swap: Select to rotate the axis by 90° counter-clockwise.
  • Weed border: Select to enable the Weed button during Cut Preview.
  • Cut by color: Select to launch the Filter By Color dialog when entering Cut Preview.
  • Engrave: Select to enable engraving.
  • Jog: Select to enable the Enable Jogging button during Cut Preview.
  • Origin jog: Select to position the output device at the registration mark (when a single registration mark is used).
Tool Select the tool parameters for the present output.
Multi-cut Specify the number of passes with the tool.
Pounce Select to create a perforated line by lifting and lowering the tool during the job.
Move Specify X and Y origin.
Smoothing Select low, medium, or high smoothing to reduce noise.
Cut Select to cut by page or sign blank. Click Selected to only apply to selected objects.
Object start point Select current point, bottom, top, left, or right, with farthest point in selected direction as the start.
Tool Options

Opens the Tool Options dialog to set up options specific to the tool, including arc support, overcut, cut velocity, pauses for copies, tiles, pen, pages, material, specify tool number, etc.

Note: Arc Support is for cutting curved objects. If cutting is prevented, deselect Arc Support.
